Vice President of Technology
- Position Overview
As the Vice President of Technology (VP of Technology) at local2u, you will lead our technological advancements and strategic growth initiatives. You will oversee the deployment of cutting-edge wireless technologies, manage our extensive real estate assets, and ensure robust and reliable internet services to our customers. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of rural internet access in the United States. The role requires some travel, including time spent in West Virginia.
- Key Responsibilities
- Technology Leadership: Drive the strategic vision for local2u's technology infrastructure, ensuring the deployment and optimization of 3.5GHz, 5.8GHz, 6GHz, and 60GHz spectrums.
- Network Architecture: Design, implement, and oversee the architecture of our wireless networks, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
- Innovation: Stay ahead of technological advancements and industry trends to continuously improve our service offerings, including the expansion into cellular services.
- Project Management: Lead large-scale projects from conception through deployment, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines.
- Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all technology operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with executive leadership, investors, and other stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Expansion Strategy: Develop and execute plans for expanding our service footprint to additional rural areas across the United States, with a focus on both home broadband and cellular services.
- Travel: The role requires some travel, including time spent in West Virginia, to oversee operations and engage with local teams and stakeholders.
- Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a senior technology leadership role, with a proven track record in the wireless internet industry.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding and experience with 3.5GHz, 5.8GHz, 6GHz, and 60GHz spectrums and related technologies.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience building and leading diverse technical teams.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex, large-scale technology projects.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop long-term technology roadmaps.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
- Travel Willingness: Willingness to travel as needed, including regular visits to West Virginia.
