Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Construction Coordinator to join our rural Internet service provider team. As a Construction Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating construction activities, managing local subcontractors and vendors, and scheduling travel for our mobile construction team. This position will require extensive coordination across multiple states to ensure efficient and timely execution of construction projects. Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate all construction activities for our rural Internet service provider across 49 states.
- Act as the primary point of contact for local subcontractors and vendors involved in construction projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely project execution and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure projects are completed within the defined scope, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate the scheduling and deployment of the mobile construction team to different project sites.
- Plan and arrange travel logistics, including accommodations, transportation, and necessary permits for the construction team.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring accurate billing and adherence to contract terms.
- Identify and address any issues, delays, or challenges that may arise during construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies throughout the construction process.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project reports, site photos, and change orders.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to provide project updates and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction regulations, and best practices to improve project efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in coordinating construction activities, preferably within the telecommunications or rural Internet service provider industry.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with construction processes, permits, and regulations across multiple states.
- Knowledge of subcontractor management, vendor relationships, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
